Santa Rosa Maternity Photographer|Complimentary Maternity Dresses

Complimentary Maternity Dresses! Yes girl, you read that correctly. You have several maternity dresses to choose from. Let me take the pressure off you, to find (and purchase) the perfect gown for your maternity session. Having a baby is expensive enough, so hooray, one less thing to buy!

Boy or girl? No problem, I carry maternity dresses in shades of blue and pink (actually they are teal and blush to be exact… because plain old blue and pink is sooooo last year!).

Colorful Maternity Dresses

Strapless Teal Maternity Dress with Open Front
Blush Open Front Maternity Dress (can be worn on or off the shoulder)

White and cream maternity dresses too, because who doesn’t love a good neutral! The lace dress has a beautiful train at the bottom, perfect to be spread out around you and all your pregnancy glow.

Neutral Maternity Dresses

Ivory lace Maternity Dress with Train (sleeves are meant to be worn off the shoulder)
Long Sleeve White Maternity Dress (worn off the shoulder)

Hey shorty, we got you covered too, I also have the cutest little short maternity dress. Perfect for you petite ladies! It runs a tad small, but has an adjustable back. This dress came from Vici.

Cream and Lace Short Maternity Dress

Want to bare it all? I have a gorgeous cream and lace robe, perfect for showing off that growing belly of yours. I’d recommend getting yourself a nice bra and pantie set to wear with this. Is “pantie” a good word?… or is “underwear” better… I don’t know, I was undecided and went with pantie because it at least sounds like it could be lacy.. and not just your average cotton underwear… but then there is the word “granny pantie”… anyway, moving on, I have thought about underwear far too long this morning.

Boudoir Maternity Dresses

Cream and Lace Robe
Short Lacy Cold-Shoulder “dress”

Both outdoor and indoor sessions available, pricing can be found here. Whether you want to shoot in a field at sunset or have something more private and intimate, I have you covered!

I look forward to hearing from all you mama-to-be’s! I can’t wait to document this special time in your life!

Santa Rosa Photographer | Mommy and Me Session

Santa Rosa Photographer, Lindsey Tatum, shares a sweet Mommy and Me Session!

Mothers Day is approaching fast so I wanted to share a mommy and me session with you.  As mothers we are usually the ones behind the camera taking photos of our little ones.  It’s nice for a change to capture the sweet moments between a mama and her baby.  Something to look back on and remember those chubby hands touching our face, the soft feel of their cheeks when we go in for a kiss.  I don’t know about you, but I want to savor those moments forever and ever.

This mommy and me session took place in my home studio.  I lucked out with a nice big window in my front room that gets great light.  I just lay down the barnwood floor and it’s good to go!

It has been so fun getting to know this mama, we met while she was still pregnant with her sweet Ava and have kept in touch ever since… that’s the wonderful thing about social media (at least in my opinion).  Once you’re friends with someone on, Instagram for example, it’s so easy to send a quick comment or happy face or wish them well without being intrusive.  It’s fun to watch their families and babies grow.  Each family I meet along this photography journey of mine will always hold a special place in my heart.

I snuck in a few solo portraits of Ava, she was just so cute, I couldn’t resist.

I don’t always offer a “mini session” BUT these types of sessions are near and dear to my heart and I know us mama’s (myself included!), have a hard time spending a little extra on something for ourselves.  So, now thru May, I’ll be offering these Mommy & Me sessions at a discounted price.  Contact me today to set up your session!

Santa Rosa Maternity Photographer | Mustard Field

Hi there, I’m Lindsey, a Santa Rosa Maternity Photographer : )

If you know me, you know I love all things that have to do with wildflowers.  Some might say I’m slightly obsessed.  Needless to say, I’ve been wanting to go out and shoot a maternity session in the mustard field.  The weather seems to be a bit hit or miss lately… sometimes sun, sometimes fog and clouds.  I was really hoping for sun tonight and lets just say mother nature did not disappoint!  I feel like I’m always talking about weather but I guess for me the weather does play a big role in how the session will turn out.  A sunny backlit photo does have a different feel to it than one with an overcast sky.  For me the mustards and the sunshine go hand in hand, must be all that yellow.

This was my first time meeting this mama to be and she was just as sweet as ever.  As we discussed beforehand, she brought a few outfits and was even brave enough to change behind a bush- lol.  We started with a beautiful cream lacy dress.  I loved the soft cream color with the pops of color from the grass, mustard flowers and the huge acacia tree that happened to be in full bloom (good thing I took my allergy medicine that morning!).  Her next outfit was one that showed off her beautiful baby bump!

I do recommend bringing a few outfits to a session, it adds a nice variety to your gallery of photos and in regards to a maternity session, it is nice to bring along an outfit that will let you show off that bare bump!  (and if you’re concerned about a few stretch marks, don’t worry, those are easy to lighten/remove in Photoshop).

Halfway thru the session we changed locations.  A few days prior I happened to be driving by an orchard that was full of blooming mustard and bare apple trees.  It looked so gorgeous I knew I had to shoot there.  I had a wonderful time with this stunning mama and I can’t wait to meet her baby boy!

Santa Rosa Maternity Photographer | Rainy Day

Hi I’m Lindsey a Santa Rosa Maternity Photographer!

Normally I like to shoot in the sun, I love that golden glowing backlighting, that magical hour before the sun goes down.

BUT… that doesn’t always happen, we are preparing for a very wet winter here in California and you know what, I’m going to embrace that rain!

The slight drizzle, the use of a cute umbrella for a prop, the red dress, the grey sky… it was all perfect.

We started out drinking a little hot chocolate… who doesn’t love hot chocolate with little marshmallows?!

Then we got cozy under a blanket

While we were waiting for mama to change her outfit, I snapped a few of these two.  As you can tell, she has her daddy wrapped around her little finger

Then the beautiful mama reappeared, isn’t she gorgeous!

I can not get enough of Layla and this little umbrella.  I have a feeling she is going to be a great big sister!

I just love Ashlee’s style!  When we talked about how to style her session, she said she wanted a cozy wintery feel and I think we did just about perfect on accomplishing that!

Soon to be a family of four!

Santa Rosa Child Photographer | Colten

Oh Hey Lovelies, it’s Lindsey, your Santa Rosa Child Photographer!

Well, well, well…. seems my big blogging plans went by the wayside… But seeing how it’s the start of a new year, I’ll give it another shot.

I’m sharing these photos I took last summer of my youngest, Colten.  He just turned two when I took these.  He is oh-so-adorable, but he can also be the biggest stinker!

Did I mention he has lases that make all the girls SWOON!  He practically gets attacked when we visit the make up counters at Ulta, all the girls are so jealous!

Seeing how most two year olds like to run away from the camera… a little bribery can’t hurt.  I actually set the candy on the flower (see below) and said “don’t you touch that candy!”  “You’ll be in big trouble!”… and you know what he did…

He looked right at me and smiled big.  Boom.  I got my shot.  Then he of course grabbed the candy and ran away.

Two… The struggle is real…

Here’s a quick tip, if you have a toddler at your session, bring a step ladder!  These bottom two photos he’s sitting on the ladder and I just zoomed in.  He runs so fast it’s hard to get a good up-close shot of him, having the ladder gave him something to climb and kept him still for a few seconds.

I just love this little guy, I call him my forever baby… it feels bittersweet to know that he is the last baby I’ll ever call my own.  I guess I just want to hang onto the thought of him being my little baby for as long as I can.

Hope you enjoyed meeting my youngest : )

Santa Rosa Child Photographer | Dylan

Hello there, I’m Lindsey, a Santa Rosa Child Photographer!

Even though I’ve had my website for quite a while now, I’ve never actually written a blog post.  In fact, I had to google how to write a blog post.  Lucky for me, wikihow was kind enough to show me in 6 easy steps (with pictures) how to.

So, here we are.  I thought for my first post I should share a little about my own family and post some photos of my own kids.  Then of course I have BIG plans of blogging all kinds of things!  Could be anything from a What to Wear Guide to showcasing images from current (and past) sessions, could even be helpful tips for taking your own photos, who knows… I suppose the possibilities are endless.

Ok, back to this post.  I have two boys, Dylan is 5 and Colten is 2.  They are the cutest, funniest, most wonderful little people and they completely own my heart.  I have been lucky enough to stay home with them full time for the past year and it has been the best year of my life.  Now, that’s not to say there wasn’t a time or two that I wanted to pull my hair out or possibly sell them to the zoo or run away to a tropical island… but really, it’s been great : )

Enough with the talking… Here is my big one

Those beautiful flowers were in a parking lot!  I did a ton of shoots here, sadly the flowers didn’t last long… I feel pretty guilty for probably being the reason they didn’t last long.

And here’s another little corner of my fancy parking lot

And just to keep it real… little boys need to act silly and make faces.  It’s a fact.  I just go with it, as you can see I get plenty of non-goofy faces too.  I have just personally found, that if I let them get their sillies out, then I end up getting what I want too.

This kid, I love him so much.

Well, it’s getting late and I have other editing to do tonight, so I’ll have to make another post to show off Colten (I didn’t bring him along on this shoot anyway).

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it.  I hope I stick with my big blogging plans… only time will tell : )
